I’m an impressionist! I want to record and share my enjoyment of what I see around me. I enjoy the physicality of painting and the calm concentration involved.

Why do you paint?

My garden and the fascinating land and seascapes of the North East of Scotland. I have lived here for almost my whole life.

What’s your inspiration?

Usually, a mixture of acrylics and pastels. I love texture and use everything from tissue paper to ready-mixed plaster to prepare my canvasses.

Which media do you prefer?

Not all of them. The larger pieces, on canvas, are not because you may prefer a different style of framing and the weight of a frame adds considerably to your shipping costs! Even a large canvas can be unstretched, rolled and shipped much less expensively if you prefer to have it framed yourself.

Are your pieces framed?

I stick to a formula based on the size of the piece and the amount of work involved.

How do you price your paintings?

I love your paintings but I can’t afford them. What can I do?
